Posted on Updated on

Pokemon_X_Y_Birthday_Message

File this under slightly old, especially if you have already witnessed it, but if you visit a Pokémon Centre in Pokémon X or Pokémon Y on your birthday then a special “Happy Birthday” message will appear along with special music and fireworks.

It’s a nice touch, so its well worth experiencing it for yourself when its your birthday. I can only assume similar messages will appear at Christmas and new year, but obviously only time well tell. You can check out the “Birthday Surprise” video below.

Sonic’s debut appearence onto the Nintendo Wii U, Sonic Lost World, will shortly be with is within Europe and since i received my copy early (through the post) i decided to record a “Lets Play” session of it.

In this rather rusty and rushed gameplay video i’ll take a look at the Deadly Six Edition Exclusive Level “Nightmare Zone” as well as the entire first two zones of the game, Windy Hill and Desert Ruin, so if you don’t want to see any Spoilers then don’t watch it.

Before you watch the video i must stress that this was the first time i had properly played the game (so i die quite often) and i did not fully understand the control. Also due to lack of a component cable i was viewing the game on the laptop recording screen rather than the TV itself, so there maybe a few pauses (or stops) at the end of each level.

Anyway, Sonic Lost World is available on the 18th October 2013 (which also happens to be my birthday) and will be released onto the Wii U and 3DS, but in the meantime here is some Wii U gameplay.

Zone of the Enders: Beyond The Bounds Eshericks Remix Music Video Trailer

Ever since Konami released Zone of the Enders onto the PS2 I have been a fan of the game, not because it was produced by Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid) but because it was the first ‘high-speed-robot-action’ game that mimicked that fast-paced events seen within the Gundam anime series.

Anyway fast-forward over a decade into the future and the ‘HD Collection’ of Zone of the Enders is now available worldwide and included with the American Special Edition bundle was a ‘ReMIXED’ soundtrack CD featuring a remixed version of the opening song ‘Beyond the Bounds’. This remix is drastically different to the original and ever since I heard it I’ve been meaning to put together a music video styled trailer, well today that wait is over as I’ve finally managed to get it done and I think its pretty impressive.

The video features clips from the original opening cinematic (remastered in HD) the newer opening animation for the game and the American launch trailer, all of which combined with the ‘Eshericks Remix’ of the Beyond the Bounds song results in this highly entertaining video.

Time Crsis 4 – Arcade Mode Ranked Playthrough

Even though I own three copies of Time Crisis 4 (a US Version, Japanese Version and a Arcade Version bundled with Time Crisis: Razing Storm) I still prefer to play the game at the arcades as it seems more natural (gun-wise) and the graphics seem better than the PS3 Version.

Anyway with the Time Crisis 4: Arcade Version (which is bundled with Time Crisis: Razing Storm) players can upload their high score to the leader board upon completion of the arcade mode, so that’s exactly what I decided to do:

I ended up getting Ranked 31st (worldwide) with a score of 4517010, but compared to scores I can now receive in the arcades, it is still considered pretty low – better luck next time I suppose.

A Weekend at the London Eurogamer Expo 2012

So last weekend, 27th – 30th September 2012, was the London Eurogamer Expo 2012 and while i only decided to go for two days, the whole event was out in full force – with plenty of games on show, a variety of competitions and lots of exciting things to see – it was a busy weekend but a whole lot of fun.

Usually i’d try to explain everything i saw, did and met – but its just too much – so instead ive listed all of the photos i took as well as created a mini-video showcasing three of my favourite games at the event. Bring on Eurogamer Expo 2013!!

Kojima Productions Takes Inspiration from Bleach

Posted on Updated on

During the weeks building up to E3 2012 i started watching Bleach and with most ‘continuious anime i resumed from where i left off. While watching the anime i was re-introuced to Shunsui Kyōraku, the Captain of Squad Eight, however while watching the show i kept feeling like i’ve seen his face before.

Several days went and E3 2012 started, soon enough a new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was shown, then it hit me – Shunsui Kyōraku looks like one of the characters from Kojima Productions latest game, as you can see below they rather do look alike.

If it hadn’t been for the fact that i was watching Bleach, i probably would’nt have made the connection, either way if you want to see Sam in action, you have to travel back to the VGA Award Trailers, as thats where we see the him in action.

So Close, Yet So Far – The Sonic 4 Episode 1 Achievement Attempt that Failed

Posted on

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 – Episode 1 features a variety of different achievements, one of them being called ‘Speed’s My Game’ where in order to obtain it the player must complete the first level, Splash Hill Zone Act 1, within 1 minute.

While attempting the achievement on the PC version of the game, and recording to show how its done, i got hit and thus resulted in me failing to obtain the achievement – however the amusing thing is that i failed by 0.1 of a second as i had completed the level within 1:00.01.

Of course i have managed to get the achievement, as seen on my youtube channel, but i find it extremely amusing (and near impossible to repeat) that i managed to get so close, yet so far to the achievement the first time in playing the game on the PC.

Its one of the easiest achievements to get in the game, but one wrong move will add valuable seconds to your time at the end, as demonstrated in my failed attempt.

Sonic Generations – Green Hill Zone Speed Run’s

In case you haven’t noticed all gaming related news & reviews will be posted on ZOMGPlay, but on a personal basis i’ve been putting some Gameplay videos of various games onto my Youtube Channel, including a ‘work in progress’ video walkthrough for Deep Black Reloaded.

Back on topic i recently uploaded some speed runs of Green Hill from Sonic Generations and If you study the videos closely you’ll learn how to get a quick time in the first two levels of the game, as well as earn yourself some achievements / trophies in the process – obviously these videos aren’t the fastest times in the world but they are pretty quick if you ask me.
